Cool Shots of An-225

Posted in Uncategorized by Patrick Truax on October 4, 2007

Monster Russian Cargo Aircraft. I saw the An 124 at STL, BNA, and BWI. The private company that owns the planes, had contracted with Volkswagen to move heavy factory to parts to Mexico. When the An-124 was in STL, it was moving heavy equipment for Boeing. I watched it take off. It needed ever bit of 30L to get off the ground..

Note the spare tires in the cargo hold. Id imagine this thing lands heavy all the time. Like overweight heavy..

A couple of those planes could move the better part of a paratroop division..

Aerodynamically speaking, a bumblebee should NOT be able to fly… it seems that this aircraft follows that in the same vein.
