Viet Nam Memorial Defaced This Weekend (September 7-9, 2007)

Posted in Uncategorized by Patrick Truax on September 10, 2007

This was posted on FR tonight. The poster has allowed me to put up here. She has included pics of what was done over the weekend. Thanks, TGSL.

At what level does one say to him or herself and say, Ok, enough is enough? If the folks who did the vandalism hate the Military so much, why dont they take their angst out on the leaders, the ones one give the orders? To take your hatred out on dead servicemen and women is beyond the pale.

The people who would do this kind of thing are the far left fringe of the political spectrum to be sure, but at what point does everyone else do something about it? Some of the leftist claims and actions are so out there, that it can be fun to poke fun of them. Sean Penn bailing out the sinking Katrina vessel, Sheryl Crow urging single plys, and the double decker bus folks who drove all the way to Iraq to be human shields are prime examples of this. But some of their actions dangerous, for example, Seattle in 1999. Sometimes their actions border on sedition with signs that they carry at their many rallies, like the Answer Rally in October, 2001. And sometimes they are just plain loony, like the Palestinian chick that Alan Keyes interviewed in 2002. And who can forget Rachel Corrie burning the American flag in Gaza, only to be humbled by a Israeli Combat Engineer when she was protecting terrorists?

To soil the memorial that honors soldiers who died during a just campaign, just because you dont believe in the same ideals that your fellow Americans adhere to, is no reason to commit such tatseless and hurtful acts of vadalism. Keep the soldiers and their families out of it. Direct your anger towards those who killed 3000 Americans on 9-11. Focus your hate on those who cause the conflicts with brutal regimes, lack of the freedom you claim to want, and finance, support, and harbor terrorists.

If its socialism you want, move to North Korea, and you can shout your slogans there. The universal healthcare that you crave can be found in Cuba. Go there next time you need open heart surgery, its free! And if its collectivism you seek, go to China and find a nice collective farm to toil for the greatness and continued progress of World Socialism. Just dont look for running water or electricity.

But if its Justice you seek, the real one, Freedom to do anything you want, and the opportunities to get there, and one of the greatest democracies in the world backed by a document we hold so sacred, then you are already here. This is the greatest country in the world. For that document, Americans died in Viet Nam, are bringing freedom to Iraq and Afghanistan, and a whole host of battles to preserve and protect it. These folks, Americans like yourself, who died in these conflicts, were doing it in defense of a piece parchment that allows you to do whatever you want, to say in America. I wonder if we can even still call you American, after you defiled sacred American ground.

You should be more concerned that you are wasting blood and treasure in Iraq.

You should be probably more concerned about what your plans for America will do this great Nation. Turning America in a Communist country is what these vandals want. You telling me not to be concerned with a seditious, subversive, Communist underground in America, is a glaring reason why liberals and democrats can never be in charge of National Security.

Shocking! America hating to it’s fullest extent. If they hate their country so much, why dont they just move?

It is a memorial to a dirty war. They should have just pissed on it. When the Iraq war memorial comes out, I hope it gets defaced, too. You Bushbots are nothing but traitors yourselves. The America I know doesnt pursue unjust wars, wiretap her citizens, or torture people. Pro-Israel neo-cons have taken over America, and we are doomed because of it.

Pro-Israel Neo-Cons? Hey, I resemble that remark! *Sniff* Our first troll..!

Let me guess, Daily Kos? Democrat Underground?(Commonly referred to as the DUmp)or the Hillary Camapign?

America just lost another war, and its chest-beaters are jerking themselves off to their self-indulgent whining over a memorial to another lost war.

I urge all the whiny patriots to enlist.

We have not lost another war. And you folks on the left know this. But since the liberal politicians have thrown all of their eggs into the loser/surrender/vietnam basket, all you have left to do is lash out at those of us do actually believe in America’s role in the World. It’s a shame more people dont see how important spreading democracy is. Iraq will be a success story, and I think most on the left know and fear that. So they are all out en masse to discredit the military, it’s leadership and the Americans who support them. But it just makes them look worse. Honest and Reasonable Americans understand that the Democrats have to pander to the leftists like yourself, because you provide a bulk of their money. But in the end it will all be for naught as the surge is working. You will have to save your viet nam scenario for when we invade Venezuela..

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.

And FYI, park police ruled out “vandalism.”

    You can’t prove that it wasn’t an accident… 🙂
